What is this Role?

Our electric guitarists are split into 2 sections: Lead & Rhythm. Lead guitar focuses on learning the riffs and lead melody lines to a song. Rhythm focuses on being the foundational support to help carry the song by mainly playing chords.

  • Arrive to soundcheck 15 minutes early to bump in, set up gear, tune up and be ready for team prayer

What Gear is Required?

  • Electric Guitar (Common brands that we use are Fender & Gibson)
  • Amplifier (Fender Blues Jr, Vox AC15 etc. No Quad stacks)
  • If you don’t own an amp then you may use an amp modelling interface such as the Line 6 Helix, Kemper, Axe FX etc
  • Tuner - Either in pedal form (TC Electronic Polytune, Boss TU3) or a clip on tuner with spare batteries.
  • Guitar Pedals/FX - At a minimum the type of songs we play require 2 overdrives (1 light gain and one medium-hot gain), a delay pedal and a reverb pedal.
  • Cable to go from guitar to pedals. And another instrument lead to go to amp/DI box. 10ft cables are long enough. Any additional cables required to connect interfaces to system (ie. Stereo balanced cables to DI, patch cables etc)
  • Guitar capo for songs that require it.
  • In ear monitors - We use in ear body packs to hear everything on stage, no Foldback wedges. We recommend the Shure SE215 to start off. These use a 3.5mm jack. No headphones such as Beats by Dre etc
