In 2024, we had the privilege of partnering with Prison Fellowship Australia in a program called Angel Tree. An initiative that helps children receive a gift at Christmas from their parents or loved ones currently in prison. This is an incredible opportunity to build and maintain connection with families going through a challenging season and offering a healthy support network for those in need. Across each of our church locations we had the opportunity to connect with 36 children who woke up on Christmas morning feeling loved and remembered. It was a privilege to see some of the responses as we delivered Christmas boxes and gifts with several families welcoming continued connection with Life Church.
Upon arrival of one of the visits, it was discovered that two additional children, who were not part of the Angel Tree program, were also staying with the family for the holidays. The grandfather, who had recently been made redundant, was deeply moved by the offer to bring gifts for the children as well. He shared that his family had experienced hardship, and the church’s support meant a great deal to them.
Thanks to all the volunteers involved in this project and thank you for your faithful giving to help complete this Legacy project. Through your generosity, these children experienced the love and care of their community during a difficult season.
