Why do we have a dress code?

We serve to point people to God. One way that we can do that is be dressing appropriately for our role that day. For those on-platform, what you wear should not distract people, draw attention to yourself, or be inappropriate. And for those off-platform, what you wear should be as distraction-free as possible, so that you can operate quietly and assist in pointing people's attention to God.

Make sure you wear something that makes you feel comfortable, and is true to you! These are guidelines we follow so that we can all work together in our goal of leading people closer to Jesus.

On-Platform Dress Code (Musicians + Vocalists)

Guys

We want to dress excellently so show respect for those around us, and honour to God for the opportunity we have to lead others in worship.

SHIRTS:
Guys should either be wearing collared shirts/jackets (Short or long sleeves), or long sleeve t-shirts. Avoid wearing short sleeve t-shirts without a jacket.
Avoid slogans/words/images that are distracting or not positive. Don't wear singlets or low cut shirts. Also be aware that we have very bright lights on platform which can cause light coloured shirts to go see-through - best to wear a singlet if you're not sure.

PANTS:
We always wear full length pants/jeans on platform. Jeans can be ripped at the knee, but no rips above the knee or gaping holes. A belt is always a good idea.

SHOES:
Your shoes should be an extension of the excellence of the rest of your outfit. Avoid sandals/slip-on/open-toe shoes and aim for fully enclosed shoes or boots (WHS).

OTHER THINGS:
Everything should pass the jump test! Can I jump, lift my hands, get passionate in what I'm wearing? When I lift my hands, does my shirt still cover my stomach? When I jump, do my pants fall down? Make sure what you are wearing sets you up for a win when you are serving.
We don't wear hats on platform. This is because of our lighting and shadows this casts on to your beautiful face.

Girls

We want to dress excellently to show respect for those around us, and honour to God for the opportunity we have to lead others in worship. Make sure what you're wearing from head to toe is comfortable and supportive so that you can worship God without being restricted by your outfit.

TOPS:
Think smart casual
Wear shirts that cover your shoulders and underarms. If your underarms or bare shoulders are showing you will need to wear a jacket or kimono. Avoid slogans/words/images that are distracting or not positive. Don't wear singlets or low cut shirts. Also be aware that we have very bright lights on platform which can cause light coloured shirts to go see-through - best to wear a singlet if you're not sure.

PANTS:
Make sure that your skirt or dress length is well below the knee and that you are comfortable to jump around in praise songs. We always wear pants/jeans that are at least 3/4 length (cover your knees). Jeans can be ripped at the knee, but no rips above the knee or gaping holes. A belt is always a good idea.

SHOES:
Your shoes should be an extension of the excellence of the rest of your outfit. Avoid sandals/slip-on/open-toe shoes and aim for fully enclosed shoes, boots or heels (WHS). Make sure you can still jump and groove in your shoes - so stilettos aren't super wise :)

Off-Platform Dress Code (Production)

Our Production team are ministers and protectors of atmosphere. We exist to create a distraction-free environment where it is EASY for people to worship God. Therefore, nothing we do should distract or detract from what is happening on platform - it should only ever add or enhance.

Serving attire needs to be practical and comfortable. We ask that each person wears all black, or dark navy blue. Please avoid all bright coloured clothing in order to keep your movements subtle. Use discretion in your clothing choice. If you feel your clothes are questionable and could potentially distract someone from their worship experience, please do not wear it.
