What is this Role?

We love CHOIR! It creates such an amazing atmosphere and dynamic to a service and such a great opportunity for vocalists to be on platform. Every one of our vocal team members can be involved in choir and hey, we even get some of our production team and musicians coming to sing on choir. It is so much fun!

Our choir is led by a choir director who will have in ear monitors and will be giving all directions to the choir. This is so that we have one stream line of communication to a large amount of people. Choir follow the same guidelines and expectations as a BV which are:

  • Turning up to rehearsal and Sunday mornings on time
  • Giving 110% in rehearsal and in Service
  • Learning each song for your rostered Sunday prior to rehearsal.
  • Follow the Platform dress guidelines.

Roles within Choir

I'm in the Choir!

Yay! Get ready to have fun. The week of the service you should spend time preparing by practicing each of the songs, and learning your parts to them. Dress code is the same as all vocalists (unless the Choir Director sends you something specific).

During Rehearsal or Sound Check, the Choir Director will place each of you within the choir to have a well balanced visual, and also strategically place people to produce a nice, cohesive sound.

I'm the Choir Director!

So you're leading this bunch of beautiful vocalists!
You should communicate with the choir in the lead up to the service with any specific requirements, and just generally touching base!

Your role includes placing each of the choir members to produce an even sound (Being aware of mic placements) and also a visually balanced group.
Typically you will be using an in-ear pack to know where the MD is calling the band to go, and also to keep in time. So bring your in-ears.
You will then direct the choir by letting them know when to come in, when to split in to parts, and how long to hold notes.
