Our Scripture

As you serve him, be glad and worship him.
Sing your way into his presence with joy!
And realise what this really means—
we have the privilege of worshiping the Lord our God.
For he is our Creator and we belong to him.
We are the people of his pleasure.
You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise.
Come right into his presence with thanksgiving.
Come bring your thank offering to him
and affectionately bless his beautiful name!

Psalm 100:2-4 (TPT)

Who We are

We are a diverse team of worshippers who come together for one purpose to praise our God and lift His name high. We are passionate about music and singing, and share the desire to see people connect with our Almighty God through our corporate worship services. We count it as such an honour that we as a whole Creative team get to lead our Church into worship each Sunday. We each get to invest time into mastering our chosen instrument (our voice!) and use our gifts to praise our God.

Vocals FAQ

It’s my first time on platform and I’m a bit nervous, what can I expect?

Being nervous is totally ok, we have vocalists that still get nervous each Sunday. I like to remind people that you are serving God and you are called to be here, to be in your allocated position and to lead people in praise and worship. Remember to have fun!

Before your first Sunday on platform you would have attended a Wednesday Night rehearsal which is essentially a Sunday rehearsal schedule. The schedule is as followed:
- Arrival
- Prayer as a whole team
- Vocalists do warm ups while the band do line check. These are run by the vocal director and are so much fun!
- Sound check and rehearsal. The production team may need you to sing individually to set your EQ and Gains. Don’t forget to sing 110% so that the production team can get you levelled correctly. In sound check a production member will help you set your in ear mix.

When the countdown comes on for church that is your cue to grab your mic and head to side of stage. When on platform it's always important to have fun and always smile. We have incredible cameras so always be giving your best smile, cause literally... smile, you’re on camera! We generally head back on platform for the reprise song during the prayer of the altar call. If this changes, the vocal director will let you know.

What should I wear on platform?

We have a general platform dress guideline for our services. There is a link below.

If you're ever in doubt, contact your vocal director or a teammate. If you’re umming or ahhhing over your outfit, your best bet is not to wear it, just to be safe.

What do I do if I am sick or away for a service I've been rostered on for?

Rosters are generally allocated in the second half of the month, so you will receive an email reminder to block out any dates that you are aware of. This is great if you are on holidays or know your work roster etc. Our rostering crew will be able to see your set block outs and take that into consideration when rostering.

If rosters have already been done and there is a service that you cannot serve on please follow these steps:
1. Contact the VD for that service and let them know that you can no longer make that service, and why
2. Decline on Elvanto and if possible please provide a reason
3. Our rostering team will then organise a replacement for you.

What gear do I need? (E.g. in-ear headphones)

We use in ear body packs to hear everything on stage, no Foldback wedges.
In-ears are slightly different to regular headphones, as they are designed to discretely and securely sit within your ear. To start off with, we recommend getting a pair of KZs as they are really affordable and are great to use! When you think you want to step up to something a bit higher quality, ask your teammates what they use and love and get a grasp of what other options there are.

What is a good in ear mix for vocalists?

This is always individual, and over time you will learn what you like. I, Hannah, like to have a bit of everything, and like it to be quite musically heavy. As a vocalist, make sure you always have piano, as this is going to be the easiest instrument to follow to. We need to make sure we have track, click and our music director to be easily heard in our ears. We also need to make sure that we can hear ourselves as well as the worship leader and song leader. It’s also a great idea to have the vocal director in your ears as they will be able to assist with parts throughout the service. The iPad will be already set up with a general mix and in sound check, you can tailor to your liking.

Why do I need to sing individually for the production team?

The production team need to get a solid gain structure and EQ of your voice. They need to do this for each vocalist so that they can create an even and smooth blend between the voices. It is crucial that you sing at 100% capacity for this reason. Don't be nervous - we're all doing it!
